Set 35 years before the events of Dune, House Atreides presents in detail the origin of the main characters in the series, focusing his story on the House Atreides, where a young Leto Atreides is preparing to inherit the power after the death his father Duke Paulus. Friends and protected and Kailee Rhombur Vernius are the heirs of the House Vernius specializing in high technology and based in Ix, fugitives from the occupation of their planet by the Bene Sardaukar Tleilax and troops.
