MAKE THE AIRWAVES ABBA TRIBUTE TO

Ardvison Patrik, a member of the Swedish band "The Airwaves" contacted "GPLM!" To inform us about the song-tribute to ABBA that recorded for inclusion in his repertoire.
The song is called "Hey You Ring Me Tonight" and its lyrics include 15 names of songs of ABBA. The song was written by Clive Jones of the legendary progressive hard rock band Black Widow, Black Sabbath colleagues in the '70s!

The band was initially known as "Swedish Whistler" from mid '90s. For various reasons they decided to rename the band "The Airwaves". In Brighton, 21-24 September 2006, were the last performances of the band under the name "Swedish Whistler.

With influences from Pink Floyd, ABBA, Black Widow, this group is comprised of: Mel Andersson, vocals, Sussi Johansson, vocals and bass, Mikael Ek, Battery, Patrik Arvidsson, guitar, Stefan Wallenborg, keyboards.

Doing some chronological history on this song tribute to ABBA, Patrik informs us that the June 12, 2007 were honored to do this song and the August 8, 2007 and were recorded.

Finally on Thursday January 24, 2008 was conducted as a digital single "Hey You Ring Me Tonight." The first version of this song can be downloaded, free mp3-format from the record label site: www.riverside-records.se
But
the ABBA connection does not end there. From the Riverside site can also download the cover of this digital single that was drawn by none other than Hans Arnold, illustrator / painter / cartoonist Illustration of horror that was responsible for the illustration of the ABBA album "Greatest Hits" in 1975. Born in Switzerland in 1925, Arnold lives in Stockholm and sent it to The Airwaves drawing did not hesitate to include it for the cover of the song tribute to ABBA!


Patrik tells us that a new version of "Hey You Ring Me Tonight" will be made soon on CD, along with the song "Jealousy" and "Like Only Yesterday", the latter composed by the Greek composer George Dimitriadis , a renowned composer in Greece for their great success in that country.

The song is a tribute to ABBA premiered in Liverpool, no less than the place where The Beatles came: at The Cavern! This event will take place next May 20, 2008.
